💼 FAQs

Q: Can I post a job to your writing job board?

A: Yes! If you’re hiring freelance writers, ghostwriters, editors, or writing coaches, you can submit your job listing here. It’s free, and you’ll reach a talented community of 9,000+ writers.

Q: How do I access the writing job board?

A: The writing job board is available to paid subscribers only. It’s updated twice a week with curated, high-paying freelance and ghostwriting gigs. Because of the time and care it takes to vet each listing, access is behind a paywall.

Q: What kinds of writing jobs do you feature?

A: The job board includes freelance, part-time, and contract writing roles — including ghostwriting, content, creative writing, and grant opportunities. You’ll also find pitch calls, writing contests, and occasional fellowships and scholarships. I focus on quality over quantity — every post is hand-picked.

Q: Are the writing jobs open to international freelancers?

A: Most jobs are U.S.-based, but many are open to international writers. If you’re outside the U.S., there are still plenty of remote-friendly and global opportunities.

Q: I’m a writer in need. Do you offer scholarships?

A: Yes. Founding Members help fund annual subscriptions for emerging or financially struggling writers. Apply here to be added to the waitlist — spots are granted on a rolling basis.

Q: What’s a “Featured Job”?

A: These are exclusive listings from clients who come directly to me to hire from this community. They often offer early access, better pay, or more creative opportunities than typical job board posts.

📝 GuestStack Submission FAQs

Q: What is GuestStack?

A: GuestStack is my curated column of essays, articles, and poetry from talented writers. As a contributor, your work is featured in front of 9,000+ subscribers — with links to your newsletter, books, or website to help grow your audience and visibility.

Q: How can I submit to GuestStack?

A: I share pitch calls on the writing job board. Each call includes a form with specific guidelines. Please note: I don’t accept general submissions or pitches via email — this helps keep my inbox sane! :)

Q: Do you accept completed pieces?

A: No — GuestStack is pitch-based. I commission selected ideas and work closely with writers during the editorial process.

Q: What happens if my pitch is accepted?

A: You’ll receive paperwork and onboarding details. Once your piece is turned in, I’ll give notes (if needed), and we’ll polish it together before it’s published.

Q: Is there a kill fee if my piece isn’t published?

A: Yes — you’ll still be paid 100% of the agreed-upon fee as long as the piece was delivered on time and per the pitch agreement.

Q: Can I republish my piece elsewhere?

A: No — all GuestStack pieces are “work-for-hire,” so rights remain with From the Desk of Amy Suto.
